The new Dynamic Force engine is designed to deliver outstanding fuel efficiency and improve driving dynamics with the 1.6 in-line, four-cylinder engine. Engine torque characteristics for each gear have been modified to guarantee response in high gears and achieve long constant acceleration. When it comes to start-off performance, engine characteristics have been optimised according to the amount of accelerator pedal depression to achieve a smooth start.

Changes have been implemented to the impact absorbing body for both occupant and pedestrian protection. A multiload path structure was adopted to the front underbody for absorbing impact in case of a frontal collision. The input load is dispersed into multiple paths, thus reducing impact transmitted to the cabin. Front and torso airbags for the driver, passenger and side as well as knee driver side and curtain side airbags are standard.
